THE FOUR DAY COURSE - COST: £295
The first 4 Day Course happened in late 2007; since then we have run 18 courses and met nearly 700 people. Many of these aspired to act for a living and several have now completed two years here. Others simply wanted an experience different to their normal. We have seen solicitors, pilots, train drivers, senior policemen, entrepeneurs, ex-footballers, models, TV presenters, housewives, stuntmen, businessmen. You get the idea.
On any particular course the age range is usually teenage to sixties and the average is about 32. When the course starts no-one cares about age. Most have little or no experience.
The course suits everyone and anyone willing to do a small amount of work and turn up on time looking awake. It is especially suitable for those who wish to be considered for the full time training and serves as a thorough audition for those who wish it to be. We dumb down nothing. You get the real thing. The four days are usually Tuesday to Friday. Hours are 10.00am-5.00pm each day. Cost is £295. We run eight courses a year at regular intervals.
Dominic Cavendish, drama critic of the Daily Telegraph, attended this course in June 2010. Click here to see what he wrote.
What you get: a series of classes in Movement and Voice. This is the basis of an acting training and if you were here full time it's what you'd be doing every day. A series of Singing classes - you learn and choreograph a number from a musical and show it. You are given a short contemporary scene which you rehearse, learn and show on the final afternoon. There are two classes on Shakespeare and two on Stage Fighting, a Jazz class and some Dialect work.
UPCOMING DATES: 26th - 29th October; 23rd - 26th November; 25th - 28th January.
