The Poor School holds auditions throughout the year. You are asked to prepare (learn by heart) two pieces of between 90 seconds and 2 minutes each. One must be from Shakespeare; most people choose a contemporary speech for their second piece and we advise that you cast yourself, in terms of age and temperament, as accurately as possible. In general, we are looking for evidence of ability that would benefit from a training.
